Business Licensing By-law in Yellowknife
On January 10, 2000, the City of Yellowknife passed a business licensing by-law requiring massage therapists to belong to a provincial or territorial Massage Therapists Association affiliated with the Canadian Massage Therapy Alliance, or be a member of a provincial or territorial regulated College of Massage Therapy (Business License By-law 3451, definition of "massage therapist").
This by-law is similar to standards for massage therapy in regulated provinces, ensuring a high level of competency and accountability.
